Grade One

Patricia Timmeny

In the 1st grade, students continue with Voices, our reading program, which is a wonderful tool to help instill values.  It uses Multi-Cultural Books to teach the skills necessary to become a successful reader, writer and speaker.  Among many other subjects such as Spanish and Art, students in the first grade learn about our God, the essential fundamentals of Mathematics and their responsibility to the world around them.

We've been having fun and learning a lot doing stream activities.  The Community is our theme for this marking period and have been collaborating with our Kindergarten and Second Grade friends learning about places in our community.  We visited the library, with more places in mind to visit this year.
